- Vayikra 9:1
וַיְהִי בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי קָרָא מֹשֶׁה לְאַהֲרֹן וּלְבָנָיו--וּלְזִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל
. .
And it was on the eighth day — Moses called to Aaron and his sons, and to the elders of the sons of Israel.
- Vayikra 9:2
וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל-אַהֲרֹן קַח-לְךָ עֵגֶל בֶּן-בָּקָר לְחַטָּאת וְאַיִל לְעֹלָה--תְּמִימִם וְהַקְרֵב לִפְנֵי יְהוָה
. . .
And he said to Aaron: 'Take a calf from the cattle for the purification-offering, and a ram for the ascent-offering — both without blemish — and bring them near before God.'

וְאֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל תְּדַבֵּר לֵאמֹר קְחוּ שְׂעִיר-עִזִּים לְחַטָּאת וְעֵגֶל וָכֶבֶשׂ בְּנֵי-שָׁנָה תְּמִימִם לְעֹלָה
. . .
And command the sons of Israel, saying: Take a he-goat from the goats for the purification-offering, and a calf and a lamb, sons of a year, without blemish, for the ascent-offering;
- Vayikra 9:4
וְשׁוֹר וָאַיִל לִשְׁלָמִים לִזְבֹּחַ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וּמִנְחָה בְּלוּלָה בַשָּׁמֶן כִּי הַיּוֹם יְהוָה נִרְאָה אֲלֵיכֶם
. . . .
and a bull and a ram for the well-being offering, to be slaughtered before God; and a gift-offering mixed with oil — for today God shall reveal Himself to you.'

וַיִּקְחוּ אֵת אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה מֹשֶׁה אֶל-פְּנֵי אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וַיִּקְרְבוּ כָּל-הָעֵדָה וַיַּעַמְדוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה
. . .
And they brought forward what Moses had commanded, to the entrance of the tent of the assembly; and all the congregation drew near, and stood before God.
- Vayikra 9:6
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר-צִוָּה יְהוָה תַּעֲשׂוּ--וְיֵרָא אֲלֵיכֶם כְּבוֹד יְהוָה
. .
And Moses said: 'This is the matter which God has commanded you — do it, and the munificence of God shall reveal itself to you.'

וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל-אַהֲרֹן קְרַב אֶל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וַעֲשֵׂה אֶת-חַטָּאתְךָ וְאֶת-עֹלָתֶךָ וְכַפֵּר בַּעַדְךָ וּבְעַד הָעָם וַעֲשֵׂה אֶת-קָרְבַּן הָעָם וְכַפֵּר בַּעֲדָם כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה
. . . . .
And he said to Aaron: 'Draw near to the altar and perform your purification-offering and your ascent-offering, and seek forgiveness for yourself and for the people; then perform their offering and seek forgiveness for them — as God has commanded.'

וַיִּקְרַב אַהֲרֹן אֶל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וַיִּשְׁחַט אֶת-עֵגֶל הַחַטָּאת אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ

And Aaron drew near to the altar, and slaughtered the calf of the purification-offering which was his.

וַיַּקְרִבוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֶת-הַדָּם אֵלָיו וַיִּטְבֹּל אֶצְבָּעוֹ בַּדָּם וַיִּתֵּן עַל-קַרְנוֹת הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וְאֶת-הַדָּם יָצַק אֶל-יְסוֹד הַמִּזְבֵּחַ
. . . .
And the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in it, and placed it upon the corners of the altar; and the remainder of the blood he poured out at its base.

וְאֶת-הַבָּשָׂר וְאֶת-הָעוֹר שָׂרַף בָּאֵשׁ מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה

And its flesh and its hide he burned with fire, outside the encampment.

וַיִּשְׁחַט אֶת-הָעֹלָה וַיַּמְצִאוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֵלָיו אֶת-הַדָּם וַיִּזְרְקֵהוּ עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ סָבִיב
. .
Then he slaughtered the ascent-offering; and the sons of Aaron conveyed the blood to him, and he sprinkled it upon the altar all around.

וְאֶת-הָעֹלָה הִמְצִיאוּ אֵלָיו לִנְתָחֶיהָ--וְאֶת-הָרֹאשׁ וַיַּקְטֵר עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ

And they conveyed to him the limbs of the ascent-offering together with the head; and he burned them in fire upon the altar.

וַיִּרְחַץ אֶת-הַקֶּרֶב וְאֶת-הַכְּרָעָיִם וַיַּקְטֵר עַל-הָעֹלָה הַמִּזְבֵּחָה

And he washed the entrails and the legs, and burned them in fire upon the altar.

וַיַּקְרֵב אֵת קָרְבַּן הָעָם וַיִּקַּח אֶת-שְׂעִיר הַחַטָּאת אֲשֶׁר לָעָם וַיִּשְׁחָטֵהוּ וַיְחַטְּאֵהוּ כָּרִאשׁוֹן
. .
Then he brought forward the offering of the people, and took the he-goat of the purification-offering which was theirs, and slaughtered it, and performed the purification with it as with the first.

וַיַּקְרֵב אֶת-הָעֹלָה וַיַּעֲשֶׂהָ כַּמִּשְׁפָּט
.
Then he brought forward the ascent-offering, and performed it according to the established practice.

וַיַּקְרֵב אֶת-הַמִּנְחָה וַיְמַלֵּא כַפּוֹ מִמֶּנָּה וַיַּקְטֵר עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ--מִלְּבַד עֹלַת הַבֹּקֶר

Then he brought forward the gift-offering, and filled his palm from it, and burned it in fire upon the altar — in addition to the morning ascent-offering.

וַיִּשְׁחַט אֶת-הַשּׁוֹר וְאֶת-הָאַיִל זֶבַח הַשְּׁלָמִים אֲשֶׁר לָעָם וַיַּמְצִאוּ בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֶת-הַדָּם אֵלָיו וַיִּזְרְקֵהוּ עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ סָבִיב
. . .
And he slaughtered the bull and the ram — the well-being sacrifice belonging to the people; and the sons of Aaron conveyed the blood to him, and he sprinkled it upon the altar all around.

וְאֶת-הַחֲלָבִים מִן-הַשּׁוֹר וּמִן-הָאַיִל--הָאַלְיָה וְהַמְכַסֶּה וְהַכְּלָיֹת וְיֹתֶרֶת הַכָּבֵד

And the fats from the bull and from the ram — the broad tail, and what covers the entrails, and the two kidneys, and the lobe of the liver —

וַיָּשִׂימוּ אֶת-הַחֲלָבִים עַל-הֶחָזוֹת וַיַּקְטֵר הַחֲלָבִים הַמִּזְבֵּחָה

they placed the fat together with the breasts; and he burned the fats in fire upon the altar.

וְאֵת הֶחָזוֹת וְאֵת שׁוֹק הַיָּמִין הֵנִיף אַהֲרֹן תְּנוּפָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה--כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה מֹשֶׁה

And the breasts and the right thigh — Aaron waved them in a waving before God, as Moses had commanded.

וַיִּשָּׂא אַהֲרֹן אֶת-יָדָו אֶל-הָעָם וַיְבָרְכֵם וַיֵּרֶד מֵעֲשֹׂת הַחַטָּאת וְהָעֹלָה--וְהַשְּׁלָמִים

Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them; and he descended from performing the purification-offering, and the ascent-offering, and the well-being sacrifice.

וַיָּבֹא מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן אֶל-אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וַיֵּצְאוּ וַיְבָרְכוּ אֶת-הָעָם וַיֵּרָא כְבוֹד-יְהוָה אֶל-כָּל-הָעָם

And Moses and Aaron entered into the tent of the assembly, and they came out and blessed the people; and the munificence of God revealed itself to them.

וַתֵּצֵא אֵשׁ מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָה וַתֹּאכַל עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ אֶת-הָעֹלָה וְאֶת-הַחֲלָבִים וַיַּרְא כָּל-הָעָם וַיָּרֹנּוּ וַיִּפְּלוּ עַל-פְּנֵיהֶם

For a fire came forth from the presence of God, and consumed upon the altar the ascent-offering and the fats; and when the people saw this, they cried out, and fell upon their faces.
