Read Your First Sentence

Everything so far — the letters, the diacritics, the article, the conventions — comes together in one line. This is the opening of Saadia's Tafsir, Genesis 1:1, in his own Judeo-Arabic. We'll take it one word at a time, letter by letter, until the whole sentence is yours. Then you step into the reader.
