- Bereshit 22:1
וַיְהִי אַחַר הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְהָאֱלֹהִים נִסָּה אֶת-אַבְרָהָם וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אַבְרָהָם וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּנִי
. . .
And it was after these things — God tested Abraham; and said to him: 'O Abraham!' He said: 'I am at your service.'
- Bereshit 22:2
וַיֹּאמֶר קַח-נָא אֶת-בִּנְךָ אֶת-יְחִידְךָ אֲשֶׁר-אָהַבְתָּ אֶת-יִצְחָק וְלֶךְ-לְךָ אֶל-אֶרֶץ הַמֹּרִיָּה וְהַעֲלֵהוּ שָׁם לְעֹלָה עַל אַחַד הֶהָרִים אֲשֶׁר אֹמַר אֵלֶיךָ
. . . . .
He said: 'Take your son, your only one, whom you love — he is Isaac — and go to the land of worship; and offer him there as an offering, upon one of the mountains which I shall tell you.'

וַיַּשְׁכֵּם אַבְרָהָם בַּבֹּקֶר וַיַּחֲבֹשׁ אֶת-חֲמֹרוֹ וַיִּקַּח אֶת-שְׁנֵי נְעָרָיו אִתּוֹ וְאֵת יִצְחָק בְּנוֹ וַיְבַקַּע עֲצֵי עֹלָה וַיָּקָם וַיֵּלֶךְ אֶל-הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר-אָמַר-לוֹ הָאֱלֹהִים
. . . . . .
And Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey; and he took his two youths with him, and Isaac his son; and he split wood for the offering; and he arose and went to the place which God had told him.

בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וַיִּשָּׂא אַבְרָהָם אֶת-עֵינָיו וַיַּרְא אֶת-הַמָּקוֹם--מֵרָחֹק
. .
And on the third day, Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place from afar.

וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָהָם אֶל-נְעָרָיו שְׁבוּ-לָכֶם פֹּה עִם-הַחֲמוֹר וַאֲנִי וְהַנַּעַר נֵלְכָה עַד-כֹּה וְנִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה וְנָשׁוּבָה אֲלֵיכֶם
. . . .
And he said to his youths: 'Sit here with the donkey; and I and the boy will go on yonder, and we shall bow down, and we shall return to you.'

וַיִּקַּח אַבְרָהָם אֶת-עֲצֵי הָעֹלָה וַיָּשֶׂם עַל-יִצְחָק בְּנוֹ וַיִּקַּח בְּיָדוֹ אֶת-הָאֵשׁ וְאֶת-הַמַּאֲכֶלֶת וַיֵּלְכוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם יַחְדָּו
. . .
And Abraham took the wood of the offering, and set it upon Isaac his son; and he took with him the fire and the knife; and the two of them went on together.

וַיֹּאמֶר יִצְחָק אֶל-אַבְרָהָם אָבִיו וַיֹּאמֶר אָבִי וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֶּנִּי בְנִי וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּה הָאֵשׁ וְהָעֵצִים וְאַיֵּה הַשֶּׂה לְעֹלָה
. . . . .
And Isaac said to Abraham his father: 'O my father!' He said: 'I am at your service, my son.' He said: 'Behold the fire and the wood — but where is the lamb for the offering?'
- Bereshit 22:8
וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָהָם אֱלֹהִים יִרְאֶה-לּוֹ הַשֶּׂה לְעֹלָה בְּנִי וַיֵּלְכוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם יַחְדָּו
. .
Abraham said: 'God shall show forth the lamb for the offering, my son.' And the two of them went on together.

וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל-הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר אָמַר-לוֹ הָאֱלֹהִים וַיִּבֶן שָׁם אַבְרָהָם אֶת-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וַיַּעֲרֹךְ אֶת-הָעֵצִים וַיַּעֲקֹד אֶת-יִצְחָק בְּנוֹ וַיָּשֶׂם אֹתוֹ עַל-הַמִּזְבֵּחַ מִמַּעַל לָעֵצִים
. . . . .
Until they came to the place which God had told him. And Abraham built there an altar; and he arranged the wood; and he bound Isaac his son, and set him upon the altar above the wood.

וַיִּשְׁלַח אַבְרָהָם אֶת-יָדוֹ וַיִּקַּח אֶת-הַמַּאֲכֶלֶת לִשְׁחֹט אֶת-בְּנוֹ

Then Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife — to slaughter his son.
- Bereshit 22:11
וַיִּקְרָא אֵלָיו מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה מִן-הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָהָם אַבְרָהָם וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּנִי
. . .
And the angel of God called to him from the sky, and said: 'O Abraham, O Abraham!' He said: 'I am at your service.'
- Bereshit 22:12
וַיֹּאמֶר אַל-תִּשְׁלַח יָדְךָ אֶל-הַנַּעַר וְאַל-תַּעַשׂ לוֹ מְאוּמָה כִּי עַתָּה יָדַעְתִּי כִּי-יְרֵא אֱלֹהִים אַתָּה וְלֹא חָשַׂכְתָּ אֶת-בִּנְךָ אֶת-יְחִידְךָ מִמֶּנִּי
. . . . .
He said: 'Do not put forth your hand against the boy, nor do anything to him — for now I have made it known to people that you fear God, and you have not withheld your son, your only one, from me.'

וַיִּשָּׂא אַבְרָהָם אֶת-עֵינָיו וַיַּרְא וְהִנֵּה-אַיִל אַחַר נֶאֱחַז בַּסְּבַךְ בְּקַרְנָיו וַיֵּלֶךְ אַבְרָהָם וַיִּקַּח אֶת-הָאַיִל וַיַּעֲלֵהוּ לְעֹלָה תַּחַת בְּנוֹ
. . . .
Then Abraham lifted up his eyes after that, and looked — and behold, a ram, its horns entangled in a thicket of trees. And he went and took it, and offered it as an offering in place of his son.

וַיִּקְרָא אַבְרָהָם שֵׁם-הַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא יְהוָה יִרְאֶה אֲשֶׁר יֵאָמֵר הַיּוֹם בְּהַר יְהוָה יֵרָאֶה
. . .
And Abraham named that place 'The God who reveals Himself' — so that it would be said, on the like of this day: 'On this mountain — God reveals Himself.'

וַיִּקְרָא מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה אֶל-אַבְרָהָם שֵׁנִית מִן-הַשָּׁמָיִם
.
Then the angel of God called to Abraham a second time from the sky.
- Bereshit 22:16
וַיֹּאמֶר בִּי נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי נְאֻם-יְהוָה כִּי יַעַן אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתָ אֶת-הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וְלֹא חָשַׂכְתָּ אֶת-בִּנְךָ אֶת-יְחִידֶךָ
. . .
He said: 'By My name I have sworn — says God — that since you have done this thing, and not withheld your son, your only one, from Me,
- Bereshit 22:17
כִּי-בָרֵךְ אֲבָרֶכְךָ וְהַרְבָּה אַרְבֶּה אֶת-זַרְעֲךָ כְּכוֹכְבֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם וְכַחוֹל אֲשֶׁר עַל-שְׂפַת הַיָּם וְיִרַשׁ זַרְעֲךָ אֵת שַׁעַר אֹיְבָיו
. . . .
surely I shall bless you, and multiply your offspring like the stars of the sky and like the sand which is upon the shore of the sea; and your offspring shall possess the towns of its enemies.
- Bereshit 22:18
וְהִתְבָּרְכוּ בְזַרְעֲךָ כֹּל גּוֹיֵי הָאָרֶץ עֵקֶב אֲשֶׁר שָׁמַעְתָּ בְּקֹלִי
. .
And in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed — recompense for that you have accepted My word.'
- Bereshit 22:19
וַיָּשָׁב אַבְרָהָם אֶל-נְעָרָיו וַיָּקֻמוּ וַיֵּלְכוּ יַחְדָּו אֶל-בְּאֵר שָׁבַע וַיֵּשֶׁב אַבְרָהָם בִּבְאֵר שָׁבַע
. . .
Then Abraham returned to his youths; and they rose, and went together to Beer-Sheba; and Abraham settled there.

וַיְהִי אַחֲרֵי הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וַיֻּגַּד לְאַבְרָהָם לֵאמֹר הִנֵּה יָלְדָה מִלְכָּה גַם-הִוא בָּנִים--לְנָחוֹר אָחִיךָ
. . .
And it was after these things, that Abraham was told, saying: 'Behold, Milkah — she too has borne sons to Nahor your brother:
- Bereshit 22:21
אֶת-עוּץ בְּכֹרוֹ וְאֶת-בּוּז אָחִיו וְאֶת-קְמוּאֵל אֲבִי אֲרָם
.
Uz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,
- Bereshit 22:22
וְאֶת-כֶּשֶׂד וְאֶת-חֲזוֹ וְאֶת-פִּלְדָּשׁ וְאֶת-יִדְלָף וְאֵת בְּתוּאֵל
. .
and Kesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Yidlaph, and Bethuel.'
- Bereshit 22:23
וּבְתוּאֵל יָלַד אֶת-רִבְקָה שְׁמֹנָה אֵלֶּה יָלְדָה מִלְכָּה לְנָחוֹר אֲחִי אַבְרָהָם
. .
And Bethuel begot Rebekah. These eight Milkah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
- Bereshit 22:24
וּפִילַגְשׁוֹ וּשְׁמָהּ רְאוּמָה וַתֵּלֶד גַּם-הִוא אֶת-טֶבַח וְאֶת-גַּחַם וְאֶת-תַּחַשׁ וְאֶת-מַעֲכָה
.
And his maidservant — her name was Reumah; she too bore: Tevah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maacah.
