And Abraham had grown old, advanced in years; and God had blessed him in everything.
- Bereshit 24:2
. . .
And Abraham said to his servant, the elder of his household, who had charge of all that he had: 'Place your hand under my covenant.
- Bereshit 24:3
. .
And I shall make you swear by God, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, that you shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I dwell;
- Bereshit 24:4
. .
rather to my land, and to my birthplace, you shall go; and you shall take a wife for my son, for Isaac.'
- Bereshit 24:5
. . . .
And the servant said to him: 'Perhaps the woman will not consent to follow me to this land. Shall I return your son to the land from which you came forth?'
- Bereshit 24:6
. .
Abraham said to him: 'Beware of returning my son thither.
- Bereshit 24:7
. . . . . . . .
God, the God of the heavens, who chose me from my father's house and from the land of my birth, and who spoke to me, and swore to me, saying, "To your offspring shall I give this land" — He shall send His angel before you; and you shall take a wife for my son from there.
- Bereshit 24:8
. . . .
And if the woman shall not consent to follow you, you shall be free of this my oath — only my son, do not return him thither.'
- Bereshit 24:9
. . .
Then the servant placed his hand under his master Abraham's covenant, and swore to him concerning this matter.
- Bereshit 24:10
. . . . .
Then the servant took ten camels of his master's camels, and went; and every good thing of his master's was in his hand. And he arose and went to Aram-Naharaim, to the town of Nahor.
- Bereshit 24:11

.
Behold, I am standing by the spring of water; and the daughters of the dwellers of the town shall come forth to draw water.
- Bereshit 24:14
. . . . .
And let it be that the maiden to whom I say, "Lower your jar that I may drink," and she says, "Drink, and your camels too I shall water" — her have You destined for Your servant Isaac; and by this shall I know that You have shown kindness to my master.'
- Bereshit 24:15

. . . .
And he had not yet finished his speech — and behold, Rebekah came forth — she whom Bethuel, son of Milkah the wife of Nahor the brother of Abraham, had begotten; and her jar was upon her shoulder.
- Bereshit 24:16

. . .
And she hastened, and emptied her jar into the trough; and she ran again to the well to draw, until she had drawn for all his camels.
- Bereshit 24:21
