- Devarim 27:1
. . .
Then Moses and the elders of the house of Israel commanded the people, saying: 'Observe all the commandments which I command you today.'
- Devarim 27:2
. . . ]] .
And it shall be on the day that you cross the Jordan into the land which God your Lord is giving you — set up for yourself great stones, and whitewash them with white lead.
- Devarim 27:3
. . . . .
And write upon them all the essentials of this Torah after your crossing, so that you may enter the land which God your Lord is giving you — a land flowing with milk and honey — as God the God of your fathers promised you.
- Devarim 27:4
. . .
And so, from the first of your crossing the Jordan, you shall erect these stones which I have commanded you today on Mount Ebal, and whitewash them with white lead.
- Devarim 27:5
. .
And build there an altar to God your Lord — an altar of stones; do not move iron upon it.
- Devarim 27:6
.
And let there be alongside that whole stones; and offer upon it ascent-offerings to God your Lord.
- Devarim 27:7
.
And slaughter peace-offerings, and eat them there; and rejoice before God your Lord.
- Devarim 27:8
.
And you shall write upon the stones all the essentials of the words of this Torah as a clear and good exposition.
- Devarim 27:9
. . .
Then Moses and the imāms and the Levites spoke to the house of Israel, saying: 'Be attentive and hear, O house of Israel — for you, this very day, have become a people of God your Lord.'
- Devarim 27:10
. .
'Accept His word, and do His commandments and His statutes which I command you today.'
- Devarim 27:11
.
Then Moses commanded his people on that day, saying:
- Devarim 27:12

. . .
'These shall stand to bless the nation at Mount Gerizim, after your crossing the Jordan: the house of Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.'
- Devarim 27:13
