- Devarim 3:1
. . . .
Then we turned and went up the road of the Bashan; and Og king of the Bashan came out to meet us — he and all his people — for battle, at Edrei.
- Devarim 3:2
. . . . . .
And God said to me: 'Fear him not, for I have already delivered him into your hand — and all his people and his land; and do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites who dwelt in Heshbon.'
- Devarim 3:3
. . .
And God our Lord delivered into our hands also Og king of the Bashan, and all his people; and we struck them down until we left him no survivor.
- Devarim 3:4
. . . .
And we took all his towns at that time — there remained no town we did not take from them. Among those, sixty towns — the entire line of the wave — the kingdom of Og in the Bashan.
- Devarim 3:5
. .
All these were fortified towns, ringed with a lofty wall, and with gates and bars — besides the towns of the open settlements, which were very many.
- Devarim 3:6
. . .
And as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, so we destroyed from every one of his towns the men, and the women and the children.
- Devarim 3:7
.
And all the livestock, and the spoil of the towns — these we took as our gain.
- Devarim 3:8
. . .
And there came into our possession at that time the land of the two kings of the Amorites who were on this side of the Jordan — from the valley of Arnon to Mount Hermon.
- Devarim 3:9
.
Which the Sidonians call Siryon, and the Amorites call Senir.
- Devarim 3:10
. . .
And all the towns of the plain, and Jarash as far as the Bashan, to Salkhah and Edrei — these too were among the towns of the kingdom of Og in the Bashan.
- Devarim 3:11
. . . .
For he alone remained of the remnant of the giants; and behold, his bed is of iron, in the hill-country that belongs to the children of Ammon — its length is nine cubits and its breadth four cubits, by the cubit of the king.
- Devarim 3:12
. . . .
And this is the land which we took possession of at that time: from Aroer, which is on the valley of Arnon, and half the hill-country of Jarash with its towns — this I assigned to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
- Devarim 3:13
. . .
And the remainder of Jarash, and all the Bashan, the kingdom of Og — I assigned it to the half-tribe of Manasseh; and the entire line of the Argob, and the Bashan, they call the land of the courageous.
- Devarim 3:14
. . . .
And Jair son of Manasseh took all the line of the Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites; and he named them after himself — the villages of Jair — unto this day.
- Devarim 3:15
And to Machir I assigned Jarash.
- Devarim 3:16
. . . .
And to the Reubenites and the Gadites I assigned from Jarash to the valley of Arnon — the middle of the valley alone — and as far as the valley of Jabbok, the border of the children of Ammon.
- Devarim 3:17
. . .
And the rift-valley, and the Jordan alone, from Gennesaret to the Sea of the Rift and to the Dead Sea — and the outlet of the eastern fortress.
- Devarim 3:18
. . . . .
And I commanded those among you at that time, saying: 'Since God your Lord has given you this land and you have taken possession of it, cross over armed before your brothers the sons of Israel — every one of martial strength.
- Devarim 3:19
. . . .
Except your wives and your children and your livestock — for I know that you have many livestock — they shall remain in your towns which I have given you.
- Devarim 3:20
. . . . .
Until God settles your brothers as He has settled you, and they too take possession of the land which God your Lord is giving them on that side of the Jordan — then each man shall return to his holding which I have given you.'
- Devarim 3:21
. . . . .
And I charged Joshua at that time, and said to him: 'Your eyes have seen all that God your Lord did to these two kings; so shall God do to all the kingdoms to which you are crossing over there.
- Devarim 3:22
. .
Fear them not, for God your Lord shall do battle on your behalf.'
- Devarim 3:23
.
Then I implored before God at that time, saying:
- Devarim 3:24
. . . .
'O God, my Lord — You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your mighty power. There is no god in the heaven nor in the earth that can do as Your works and Your might.
- Devarim 3:25
. . .
I ask of You that I may cross over, and behold that good land which is on that side of the Jordan — that good mountain, and Lebanon.'
- Devarim 3:26
. . .
But God was angered with me on your account, and did not hearken to me; rather He said to me: 'Enough for you — do not add further petitions to Me in this matter.
- Devarim 3:27
. . . .
But go up to the summit of the fortress, and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward, and behold it with your eyes — for you shall not cross this Jordan.
- Devarim 3:28
. .
And command Joshua, and strengthen him and support him — for he shall cross before this people, and he shall give them as inheritance the land which you see.'
- Devarim 3:29
.
Then we settled in the valley, toward Beth Peor.
