- Shemot 11:1
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה עוֹד נֶגַע אֶחָד אָבִיא עַל-פַּרְעֹה וְעַל-מִצְרַיִם--אַחֲרֵי-כֵן יְשַׁלַּח אֶתְכֶם מִזֶּה כְּשַׁלְּחוֹ--כָּלָה גָּרֵשׁ יְגָרֵשׁ אֶתְכֶם מִזֶּה
. . . .
And God said to Moses: 'One affliction yet remains, which I shall bring upon Pharaoh and upon the Egyptians; after that he shall release you from here — and at his releasing, he shall altogether drive you out from here.'

דַּבֶּר-נָא בְּאָזְנֵי הָעָם וְיִשְׁאֲלוּ אִישׁ מֵאֵת רֵעֵהוּ וְאִשָּׁה מֵאֵת רְעוּתָהּ כְּלֵי-כֶסֶף וּכְלֵי זָהָב
. . .
'Command the people, that each man ask as a gift from his neighbor, and each woman from her neighbor, vessels of silver and vessels of gold.'

וַיִּתֵּן יְהוָה אֶת-חֵן הָעָם בְּעֵינֵי מִצְרָיִם גַּם הָאִישׁ מֹשֶׁה גָּדוֹל מְאֹד בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם בְּעֵינֵי עַבְדֵי-פַרְעֹה וּבְעֵינֵי הָעָם
. . .
And God granted the people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians. And as for Moses the messenger — he was very great in the land of Egypt, in the eyes of Pharaoh's officers and in the eyes of the people.
- Shemot 11:4
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה כַּחֲצֹת הַלַּיְלָה אֲנִי יוֹצֵא בְּתוֹךְ מִצְרָיִם
. . .
And Moses said: 'Thus says God: At about the middle of the night I shall appear in the land of Egypt,
- Shemot 11:5
וּמֵת כָּל-בְּכוֹר בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם--מִבְּכוֹר פַּרְעֹה הַיֹּשֵׁב עַל-כִּסְאוֹ עַד בְּכוֹר הַשִּׁפְחָה אֲשֶׁר אַחַר הָרֵחָיִם וְכֹל בְּכוֹר בְּהֵמָה
. . . .
and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die — from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits upon his throne, to the firstborn of the maidservant who is behind the millstone, and all the firstborn of the beasts.

וְהָיְתָה צְעָקָה גְדֹלָה בְּכָל-אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם אֲשֶׁר כָּמֹהוּ לֹא נִהְיָתָה וְכָמֹהוּ לֹא תֹסִף
. .
And there shall be a great outcry throughout all the land of Egypt, the like of which has never been, and the like of which shall not occur again.'

וּלְכֹל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא יֶחֱרַץ-כֶּלֶב לְשֹׁנוֹ לְמֵאִישׁ וְעַד-בְּהֵמָה--לְמַעַן תֵּדְעוּן אֲשֶׁר יַפְלֶה יְהוָה בֵּין מִצְרַיִם וּבֵין יִשְׂרָאֵל
. . . . .
'But against all the sons of Israel, no dog shall bark with its mouth — of anything above it in harm — from their people to their beasts; so that you may know what God distinguishes between the Egyptians and the sons of Israel.'

וְיָרְדוּ כָל-עֲבָדֶיךָ אֵלֶּה אֵלַי וְהִשְׁתַּחֲווּ-לִי לֵאמֹר צֵא אַתָּה וְכָל-הָעָם אֲשֶׁר-בְּרַגְלֶיךָ וְאַחֲרֵי-כֵן אֵצֵא וַיֵּצֵא מֵעִם-פַּרְעֹה בָּחֳרִי-אָף
. . .
'Then all these servants of yours shall come to me and bow down to me, saying: Go out — you and all the people who are with you; and after that I shall go out.' Then he went out from Pharaoh's presence in great intensity of anger at him.
- Shemot 11:9
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֹא-יִשְׁמַע אֲלֵיכֶם פַּרְעֹה--לְמַעַן רְבוֹת מוֹפְתַי בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם
.
Then God said to Moses: 'Pharaoh will not accept from the two of you, so that My proofs may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.'
- Shemot 11:10
וּמֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עָשׂוּ אֶת-כָּל-הַמֹּפְתִים הָאֵלֶּה--לִפְנֵי פַרְעֹה וַיְחַזֵּק יְהוָה אֶת-לֵב פַּרְעֹה וְלֹא-שִׁלַּח אֶת-בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאַרְצוֹ
. .
And Moses and Aaron performed all these proofs in Pharaoh's presence; and God hardened his heart, and he did not release the sons of Israel from his land.
