- Shemot 6:1
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה עַתָּה תִרְאֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶעֱשֶׂה לְפַרְעֹה כִּי בְיָד חֲזָקָה יְשַׁלְּחֵם וּבְיָד חֲזָקָה יְגָרְשֵׁם מֵאַרְצוֹ
. .
And God said to Moses: 'Now you shall see what I shall do to Pharaoh — for by a mighty hand he shall release them, and by a mighty hand he shall drive them out of his land.'
- Shemot 6:2
וַיְדַבֵּר אֱלֹהִים אֶל-מֹשֶׁה וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו אֲנִי יְהוָה

Then God spoke to Moses, and said to him: 'I am God,
- Shemot 6:3
וָאֵרָא אֶל-אַבְרָהָם אֶל-יִצְחָק וְאֶל-יַעֲקֹב--בְּאֵל שַׁדָּי וּשְׁמִי יְהוָה לֹא נוֹדַעְתִּי לָהֶם
. . .
who appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as the All-Sufficient One; but My name — God alone — I did not make known to them.

וְגַם הֲקִמֹתִי אֶת-בְּרִיתִי אִתָּם לָתֵת לָהֶם אֶת-אֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן--אֵת אֶרֶץ מְגֻרֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר-גָּרוּ בָהּ
.
And also I confirmed My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan — the land of their sojourning, which they sojourned in.
- Shemot 6:5
וְגַם אֲנִי שָׁמַעְתִּי אֶת-נַאֲקַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר מִצְרַיִם מַעֲבִדִים אֹתָם וָאֶזְכֹּר אֶת-בְּרִיתִי
. .
And also I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, from what the Egyptians press them into as service; and I have remembered My covenant.
- Shemot 6:6
לָכֵן אֱמֹר לִבְנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲנִי יְהוָה וְהוֹצֵאתִי אֶתְכֶם מִתַּחַת סִבְלֹת מִצְרַיִם וְהִצַּלְתִּי אֶתְכֶם מֵעֲבֹדָתָם וְגָאַלְתִּי אֶתְכֶם בִּזְרוֹעַ נְטוּיָה וּבִשְׁפָטִים גְּדֹלִים
. . . . ]]
Therefore say to the sons of Israel: I am God — I have sworn to bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and to deliver you from their service, and to redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments.
- Shemot 6:7
וְלָקַחְתִּי אֶתְכֶם לִי לְעָם וְהָיִיתִי לָכֶם לֵאלֹהִים וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם הַמּוֹצִיא אֶתְכֶם מִתַּחַת סִבְלוֹת מִצְרָיִם
. . .
And I shall take you to Me as a nation, and I shall be to you the God; and you shall know that I am God your Lord, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

וְהֵבֵאתִי אֶתְכֶם אֶל-הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נָשָׂאתִי אֶת-יָדִי לָתֵת אֹתָהּ לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב וְנָתַתִּי אֹתָהּ לָכֶם מוֹרָשָׁה אֲנִי יְהוָה
. . . .
And I shall bring you into the land which I swore by My word to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I shall give it to you as a possession — I am God, I shall fulfil this.'

וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה כֵּן אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא שָׁמְעוּ אֶל-מֹשֶׁה מִקֹּצֶר רוּחַ וּמֵעֲבֹדָה קָשָׁה
. . .
And Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel; but they did not accept from him, because of the anguish of their souls and their hard service.
- Shemot 6:10
וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר
Then God spoke to Moses directly.
- Shemot 6:11
בֹּא דַבֵּר אֶל-פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ מִצְרָיִם וִישַׁלַּח אֶת-בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאַרְצוֹ
.
'Go in, speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that he release the sons of Israel from his land.'
- Shemot 6:12
וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לֵאמֹר הֵן בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא-שָׁמְעוּ אֵלַי וְאֵיךְ יִשְׁמָעֵנִי פַרְעֹה וַאֲנִי עֲרַל שְׂפָתָיִם
. . .
He said: 'O my Lord, behold — the sons of Israel did not accept from me; so how shall Pharaoh accept from me, when I am thick of speech?'

וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל-אַהֲרֹן וַיְצַוֵּם אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאֶל-פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ מִצְרָיִם--לְהוֹצִיא אֶת-בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם
. .
And God spoke to Moses and Aaron, and charged the two of them concerning the sons of Israel and concerning Pharaoh, king of Egypt.
- Shemot 6:14
אֵלֶּה רָאשֵׁי בֵית-אֲבֹתָם בְּנֵי רְאוּבֵן בְּכֹר יִשְׂרָאֵל חֲנוֹךְ וּפַלּוּא חֶצְרֹן וְכַרְמִי--אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת רְאוּבֵן
. . .
These are the heads of their fathers' houses. The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi — these are the clans of Reuben.

וּבְנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן יְמוּאֵל וְיָמִין וְאֹהַד וְיָכִין וְצֹחַר וְשָׁאוּל בֶּן-הַכְּנַעֲנִית אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת שִׁמְעוֹן
. . .
And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar, and Shaul the son of the Canaanite woman — these are the clans of Simeon.

וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹת בְּנֵי-לֵוִי לְתֹלְדֹתָם--גֵּרְשׁוֹן וּקְהָת וּמְרָרִי וּשְׁנֵי חַיֵּי לֵוִי שֶׁבַע וּשְׁלֹשִׁים וּמְאַת שָׁנָה
. . . .
And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were a hundred and thirty-seven years.

בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן לִבְנִי וְשִׁמְעִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם

The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their clans.
- Shemot 6:18
וּבְנֵי קְהָת--עַמְרָם וְיִצְהָר וְחֶבְרוֹן וְעֻזִּיאֵל וּשְׁנֵי חַיֵּי קְהָת שָׁלֹשׁ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים וּמְאַת שָׁנָה
. . . .
And the sons of Kohath: Amram and Izhar, and Hebron and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred and thirty-three years.

וּבְנֵי מְרָרִי מַחְלִי וּמוּשִׁי אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת הַלֵּוִי לְתֹלְדֹתָם
.
And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of the Levites according to their generations.

וַיִּקַּח עַמְרָם אֶת-יוֹכֶבֶד דֹּדָתוֹ לוֹ לְאִשָּׁה וַתֵּלֶד לוֹ אֶת-אַהֲרֹן וְאֶת-מֹשֶׁה וּשְׁנֵי חַיֵּי עַמְרָם שֶׁבַע וּשְׁלֹשִׁים וּמְאַת שָׁנָה
. . .
And Amram married Jochebed his aunt, before she became forbidden to him; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of his life were a hundred and thirty-seven years.
- Shemot 6:21
וּבְנֵי יִצְהָר--קֹרַח וָנֶפֶג וְזִכְרִי
.
And the sons of Izhar: Korah and Nepheg and Zichri.
- Shemot 6:22
וּבְנֵי עֻזִּיאֵל--מִישָׁאֵל וְאֶלְצָפָן וְסִתְרִי
.
And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael and Elzaphan and Sithri.
- Shemot 6:23
וַיִּקַּח אַהֲרֹן אֶת-אֱלִישֶׁבַע בַּת-עַמִּינָדָב אֲחוֹת נַחְשׁוֹן--לוֹ לְאִשָּׁה וַתֵּלֶד לוֹ אֶת-נָדָב וְאֶת-אֲבִיהוּא אֶת-אֶלְעָזָר וְאֶת-אִיתָמָר
. . . .
And Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Nahshon; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
- Shemot 6:24
וּבְנֵי קֹרַח אַסִּיר וְאֶלְקָנָה וַאֲבִיאָסָף אֵלֶּה מִשְׁפְּחֹת הַקָּרְחִי

And the sons of Korah: Assir and Elkanah and Abiasaph — these are the clans of Korah.

וְאֶלְעָזָר בֶּן-אַהֲרֹן לָקַח-לוֹ מִבְּנוֹת פּוּטִיאֵל לוֹ לְאִשָּׁה וַתֵּלֶד לוֹ אֶת-פִּינְחָס אֵלֶּה רָאשֵׁי אֲבוֹת הַלְוִיִּם--לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם
. . .
And Eleazar son of Aaron married a woman from the daughters of Putiel; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their clans.

הוּא אַהֲרֹן וּמֹשֶׁה--אֲשֶׁר אָמַר יְהוָה לָהֶם הוֹצִיאוּ אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם עַל-צִבְאֹתָם
. . .
They are Aaron and Moses — those to whom God said: 'Bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts.'
- Shemot 6:27
הֵם הַמְדַבְּרִים אֶל-פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ-מִצְרַיִם לְהוֹצִיא אֶת-בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל מִמִּצְרָיִם הוּא מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן
. .
They are the ones who addressed Pharaoh, king of Egypt, that he bring out the sons of Israel from Egypt — they are Moses and Aaron.

וַיְהִי בְּיוֹם דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה--בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם
And it was on the day that God spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,
- Shemot 6:29
וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר אֲנִי יְהוָה דַּבֵּר אֶל-פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ מִצְרַיִם אֵת כָּל-אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי דֹּבֵר אֵלֶיךָ

God said to Moses: 'I am God — speak to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, all that I command you.'
- Shemot 6:30
וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה הֵן אֲנִי עֲרַל שְׂפָתַיִם וְאֵיךְ יִשְׁמַע אֵלַי פַּרְעֹה

And he said before Him: 'Behold, I am thick of speech — so how shall Pharaoh heed me?'
