  1. Bereshit 6:1

    וַיְהִי כִּי-הֵחֵל הָאָדָם לָרֹב עַל-פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה וּבָנוֹת יֻלְּדוּ לָהֶם

    . .

    And when the people began to multiply upon the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them

  2. Bereshit 6:2

    וַיִּרְאוּ בְנֵי-הָאֱלֹהִים אֶת-בְּנוֹת הָאָדָם כִּי טֹבֹת הֵנָּה וַיִּקְחוּ לָהֶם נָשִׁים מִכֹּל אֲשֶׁר בָּחָרוּ

    . .

    the sons of the nobles saw the daughters of the commonersthat they were beautiful — and they took for themselves wives from all whom they chose.

  3. Bereshit 6:3

    וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה לֹא-יָדוֹן רוּחִי בָאָדָם לְעֹלָם בְּשַׁגַּם הוּא בָשָׂר וְהָיוּ יָמָיו מֵאָה וְעֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה

    And God said: 'My spirit shall not endure in these people forever, for they are corporeal; and their span shall be one hundred and twenty years.'

    הַנְּפִלִים הָיוּ בָאָרֶץ בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם וְגַם אַחֲרֵי-כֵן אֲשֶׁר יָבֹאוּ בְּנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים אֶל-בְּנוֹת הָאָדָם וְיָלְדוּ לָהֶם הֵמָּה הַגִּבֹּרִים אֲשֶׁר מֵעוֹלָם אַנְשֵׁי הַשֵּׁם

    . . . . .

    And the giants were in the earth in that time; and also after that, when the sons of the nobles entered upon the daughters of the commoners illicitly, and they bore to themthese are the giants who from of old were men of name.

    וַיַּרְא יְהוָה כִּי רַבָּה רָעַת הָאָדָם בָּאָרֶץ וְכָל-יֵצֶר מַחְשְׁבֹת לִבּוֹ רַק רַע כָּל-הַיּוֹם

    And when God saw that the wickedness of the people had multiplied upon the earth, and that every notion of the thoughts of their hearts was pure wickedness all the time

  6. Bereshit 6:6

    וַיִּנָּחֶם יְהוָה כִּי-עָשָׂה אֶת-הָאָדָם בָּאָרֶץ וַיִּתְעַצֵּב אֶל-לִבּוֹ

    God admonished themsince He had made them upon the earthand brought distress to their hearts.

  7. Bereshit 6:7

    וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶמְחֶה אֶת-הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר-בָּרָאתִי מֵעַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה מֵאָדָם עַד-בְּהֵמָה עַד-רֶמֶשׂ וְעַד-עוֹף הַשָּׁמָיִם כִּי נִחַמְתִּי כִּי עֲשִׂיתִם

    . . . .

    Then God said: 'I shall wipe away the people whom I created from the face of the earthfrom human to beast, to creeping thing, and to wild creature and bird of the skyfor I admonished them when I created them.'

  8. Bereshit 6:8

    וְנֹחַ מָצָא חֵן בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה

    But Noah found favor before God.

  9. Bereshit 6:9

    אֵלֶּה תּוֹלְדֹת נֹחַ--נֹחַ אִישׁ צַדִּיק תָּמִים הָיָה בְּדֹרֹתָיו אֶת-הָאֱלֹהִים הִתְהַלֶּךְ-נֹחַ

    . .

    This is the exposition of the offspring of Noah. And Noah was a righteous man, sound in his generations; in obedience to God did Noah walk.

    וַיּוֹלֶד נֹחַ שְׁלֹשָׁה בָנִים--אֶת-שֵׁם אֶת-חָם וְאֶת-יָפֶת

    And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

  11. Bereshit 6:11

    וַתִּשָּׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ חָמָס

    .

    And the earth was corrupted before God; and the earth was filled with injustice.

  12. Bereshit 6:12

    וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים אֶת-הָאָרֶץ וְהִנֵּה נִשְׁחָתָה כִּי-הִשְׁחִית כָּל-בָּשָׂר אֶת-דַּרְכּוֹ עַל-הָאָרֶץ

    . .

    And He saw it, when it was corruptedfor every corporeal one had corrupted his way upon it.

  13. Bereshit 6:13

    וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים לְנֹחַ קֵץ כָּל-בָּשָׂר בָּא לְפָנַי--כִּי-מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ חָמָס מִפְּנֵיהֶם וְהִנְנִי מַשְׁחִיתָם אֶת-הָאָרֶץ

    . . . .

    And God said to Noah: 'The end of every corporeal one has drawn near before Mefor the earth has been filled with injustice on their account; and behold, I am destroying them from it.

  14. Bereshit 6:14

    עֲשֵׂה לְךָ תֵּבַת עֲצֵי-גֹפֶר קִנִּים תַּעֲשֶׂה אֶת-הַתֵּבָה וְכָפַרְתָּ אֹתָהּ מִבַּיִת וּמִחוּץ בַּכֹּפֶר

    . . .

    Make for yourself an ark of boxwood; and make it in compartments; and pitch it within and without with bitumen.

  15. Bereshit 6:15

    וְזֶה אֲשֶׁר תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתָהּ שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת אַמָּה אֹרֶךְ הַתֵּבָה חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה רָחְבָּהּ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אַמָּה קוֹמָתָהּ

    . . .

    And this is the measure by which you shall make it: three hundred cubits its length, fifty cubits its breadth, and thirty cubits its height.

  16. Bereshit 6:16

    צֹהַר תַּעֲשֶׂה לַתֵּבָה וְאֶל-אַמָּה תְּכַלֶּנָּה מִלְמַעְלָה וּפֶתַח הַתֵּבָה בְּצִדָּהּ תָּשִׂים תַּחְתִּיִּם שְׁנִיִּם וּשְׁלִשִׁים תַּעֲשֶׂהָ

    . . . .

    And make for it a light-source, and to a cubit shall you complete it from the top; and set for it a door in its side. Lowest, second, and third stories shall you make it.

    וַאֲנִי הִנְנִי מֵבִיא אֶת-הַמַּבּוּל מַיִם עַל-הָאָרֶץ לְשַׁחֵת כָּל-בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר-בּוֹ רוּחַ חַיִּים מִתַּחַת הַשָּׁמָיִם כֹּל אֲשֶׁר-בָּאָרֶץ יִגְוָע

    . . . .

    And behold, I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy every corporeal being in which is the breath of life, from beneath the sky; and everything that is upon the earth shall perish.

    וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת-בְּרִיתִי אִתָּךְ וּבָאתָ אֶל-הַתֵּבָה--אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ וּנְשֵׁי-בָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ

    . . .

    And I shall establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter into the arkyou, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you.

    וּמִכָּל-הָחַי מִכָּל-בָּשָׂר שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל תָּבִיא אֶל-הַתֵּבָה--לְהַחֲיֹת אִתָּךְ זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה יִהְיוּ

    And of every living thing, of all fleshpairs of every kind shall you bring into the ark, that they may live with you; male and female shall they be.

  20. Bereshit 6:20

    מֵהָעוֹף לְמִינֵהוּ וּמִן-הַבְּהֵמָה לְמִינָהּ מִכֹּל רֶמֶשׂ הָאֲדָמָה לְמִינֵהוּ--שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל יָבֹאוּ אֵלֶיךָ לְהַחֲיוֹת

    Of the bird according to its kinds, and of the beasts according to their kinds, and of the rest of the creeping things of the earth according to its kindspairs of every kind shall enter to you, that they may live.

  21. Bereshit 6:21

    וְאַתָּה קַח-לְךָ מִכָּל-מַאֲכָל אֲשֶׁר יֵאָכֵל וְאָסַפְתָּ אֵלֶיךָ וְהָיָה לְךָ וְלָהֶם לְאָכְלָה

    And you, take for yourself of every food that is eaten, and gather it to you; and it shall be for you and for them as food.

  22. Bereshit 6:22

    וַיַּעַשׂ נֹחַ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֹתוֹ אֱלֹהִים--כֵּן עָשָׂה

    And Noah did according to all that God had commanded him; so did he do.
