- Bereshit 7:1
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה לְנֹחַ בֹּא-אַתָּה וְכָל-בֵּיתְךָ אֶל-הַתֵּבָה כִּי-אֹתְךָ רָאִיתִי צַדִּיק לְפָנַי בַּדּוֹר הַזֶּה
. . .
And God said to Noah: 'Enter, you and all your household, into the ark; for I have seen you to be righteous before Me in this generation.

מִכֹּל הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהוֹרָה תִּקַּח-לְךָ שִׁבְעָה שִׁבְעָה--אִישׁ וְאִשְׁתּוֹ וּמִן-הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא טְהֹרָה הִוא שְׁנַיִם--אִישׁ וְאִשְׁתּוֹ
. . . .
Of every pure beast you shall take seven by seven, males and females; and of the beasts that are not pure, a pair — male and female.

גַּם מֵעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם שִׁבְעָה שִׁבְעָה זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה לְחַיּוֹת זֶרַע עַל-פְּנֵי כָל-הָאָרֶץ

And also of the bird of the sky, seven by seven, males and females — that they may live upon the face of the earth.

כִּי לְיָמִים עוֹד שִׁבְעָה אָנֹכִי מַמְטִיר עַל-הָאָרֶץ אַרְבָּעִים יוֹם וְאַרְבָּעִים לָיְלָה וּמָחִיתִי אֶת-כָּל-הַיְקוּם אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי מֵעַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה

For after seven days I shall rain upon the earth, forty days and forty nights; and I shall wipe away all the people whom I have made from the face of the earth.'

וַיַּעַשׂ נֹחַ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר-צִוָּהוּ יְהוָה

And Noah did according to all that God had commanded him.

Of the pure beasts, and of the beasts that were not pure, and of the bird, and the rest of what creeps upon the earth —

in pairs, pairs they entered to Noah, into the ark — males and females — as God had commanded him.

בִּשְׁנַת שֵׁשׁ-מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה לְחַיֵּי-נֹחַ בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי בְּשִׁבְעָה-עָשָׂר יוֹם לַחֹדֶשׁ--בַּיּוֹם הַזֶּה נִבְקְעוּ כָּל-מַעְיְנֹת תְּהוֹם רַבָּה וַאֲרֻבֹּת הַשָּׁמַיִם נִפְתָּחוּ

In the six-hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of it — on that day, all the great springs of the deep burst open, and the windows of the sky were opened.

They, and all the wild creatures according to their kinds, and all the beasts according to their kinds, and the rest of the creeping things, that which creeps upon the earth, according to its kinds; and every winged bird.

וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל-נֹחַ אֶל-הַתֵּבָה שְׁנַיִם שְׁנַיִם מִכָּל-הַבָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר-בּוֹ רוּחַ חַיִּים

And they entered to Noah, into the ark, in pairs, pairs of every corporeal being in which is the breath of life.

וְהַבָּאִים זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה מִכָּל-בָּשָׂר בָּאוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֹתוֹ אֱלֹהִים וַיִּסְגֹּר יְהוָה בַּעֲדוֹ

And those who entered — males and females of every corporeal being — entered, as God had commanded him; and God shut him in.

וַיְהִי הַמַּבּוּל אַרְבָּעִים יוֹם עַל-הָאָרֶץ וַיִּרְבּוּ הַמַּיִם וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת-הַתֵּבָה וַתָּרָם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ

And when the flood had continued forty days upon the earth, the water multiplied, and bore up the ark, and it rose above the earth.

וַיִּגְבְּרוּ הַמַּיִם וַיִּרְבּוּ מְאֹד עַל-הָאָרֶץ וַתֵּלֶךְ הַתֵּבָה עַל-פְּנֵי הַמָּיִם

And when the water grew mighty and multiplied greatly upon the earth, the ark went upon the face of the water.

And the water grew mighty exceedingly upon the earth; and all the lofty mountains beneath the whole of the sky were covered.

חֲמֵשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה אַמָּה מִלְמַעְלָה גָּבְרוּ הַמָּיִם וַיְכֻסּוּ הֶהָרִים

And when the water grew mighty fifteen cubits above the earth, the mountains were covered.

Every corporeal being that crept upon the earth perished — from the bird to the beast to the wild creatures, and the rest of the creeping things that creep upon the earth — and all the people.

Every one in whose nostril was the breath of the spirit of life — of all who were on the dry land — they died.

וַיִּמַח אֶת-כָּל-הַיְקוּם אֲשֶׁר עַל-פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה מֵאָדָם עַד-בְּהֵמָה עַד-רֶמֶשׂ וְעַד-עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיִּמָּחוּ מִן-הָאָרֶץ וַיִּשָּׁאֶר אַךְ-נֹחַ וַאֲשֶׁר אִתּוֹ בַּתֵּבָה

And the water wiped away all the people who were upon the face of the earth — from human to beast, to creeping thing, and to bird of the sky — and they were wiped from the earth; and there remained only Noah, and those with him in the ark.
